How to up your Game, a meeting place for a 'cross section' of mainstream society where Athletes simply get to be themselves.


Every day players will work with one of BTA's NBA Skill Enhancement and athletic performance Coaches, covering a wide variety of athletic components, speed, agility, vertical, core, flexibility, and footwork. We think the greatest challenge was always to not lose the passion when things didn’t go as expected. We are interested in seeing how each guy builds their personality, their style and their way of expressing themselves, leaving behind the labels that come with conditions and limits. Our future is an extension of what we choose to do now. If we continue to make wrong decisions based on bad or insufficient information, our future may be an undesirable one. It’s our wish to use our basket philosophy to present other or alternative choices to the people, and consequently to contribute to a better future.

  • Each player will train in an individualized group (max 6 Atlethes) for the entire week for over 20 hours of innovative and efficient training along with film study. (Monday/Sunday)
  • Each player will receive year-round access to a on-line program with  HS, College and University  Coaches for or future training, a year-long access to over 700 skill and method demonstrations. (Videos of the skills and methods we teach as well as the ability for players to communicate directly with  HS, College and University Coaches throughout the year to provide notes and tips).


Note: there are times when a player must miss a week they signed up for due to unforeseen circumstances. When that happens, or other special circumstances, we will sometimes allow players to join another week. In those cases, we will allow those weeks to have additional players instead of the normal 6.

'I was a player long before I was a coach; I worked mainly on details, stance and coordination issues. I would not be the coach and the storyteller that I am today without my player background. Basketball is the technical medium which I use to tell your story, but at the end of the day it's the knowledge of the story, it's the understanding of the athlete's behaviour on the court and the deep understanding of the details issues that are at the heart of it. I think that allows me to create stories that are perhaps different, that hopefully get people to stop and think and act and become a new person, an awesome player.'


PURPOSE

A well-designed training program led by qualified coaches can help young athletes increase their strength by 30% to 50% in just 8 to 12 weeks. Working out and maintaining the health of your body is an important part of training for any sport. Our performance coaches at BTA will ensure that you have safe and quality workouts every time you work out.

INJURY PREVENTION

70% of injuries in the weight room of youth athletes are caused by coaches progressing athletes too fast, improper form, or no supervision. Our trainers are high qualified and comprehend the significance of gradual improvement. Overloading an athlete does not indicate that they are improving. Our workouts are designed to best fit the athletes ability and body type.

PERFORMANCE TRAINING

We specialize our workouts to fit your needs. Although we are a basketball training facility, we also train all different types of athletes on the weights side. We specialize our workouts to fit your sport, position, and your body type. We have the tools and resources to get your body ready for whatever sport that you play. We collaborate with you to make sure you are getting everything you deserve.

LEARNING TO MOVE

We don’t teach players moves, we teach players how to move. We break the game down into it’s finest detail allowing you to learn exactly what the professionals are doing at the highest level. As you learn more and master more, you will realize how everything in the BTA system layers, stacks, and blends together allowing you to mix and match movements into different sequences. We use accountability tools to simulate realistic game-time scenario movement patterns. These tools and visual aids propel growth and allow players to feel and see what they need in the learning process. Training your body to get into those necessary movement patterns naturally.

BIOMECHANICAL MOVEMENT ASSESSMENTS

Focus: evaluation of Biomechanics to understand movement patterns and deficiencies that are limiting those movements. Purpose: how you move your body matters. If your body is in balance you move and make improvements quickly and efficiently. When you overuse your body in specific ways (ex. overuse injuries) you become inefficient or injured. How it works:  a biomechanical assessment evaluates how you move your body, flexibility, rotation, stability, range of motion and strength. After your evaluation, BTA will identify your natural movement patterns, identify any areas that need extra attention and create an action plan for you to work on at home.

We believe guys have big dreams and it's time we start training them at the level of those dreams and give them a true chance of enjoying this great Game. We will not waste time teaching them how to do the most basic and elementary things, so they can succeed in local youth leagues at that age, as that often cements in habits that will all need to be unlearned as they get older ... and it takes a long time to modify them, becoming a fundamental cause of the end of dreams.
